Mr. Patrick Hoima Makaya is a Sierra Leonean born on 20^th July, 1972 in Bo Town, Bo District, Southern Province, Sierra Leone. He is married with four children. He attended the Roman Catholic Primary School   and the Government Secondary School in Bo between the years 1980-1993.  In 1996 he entered Ngala University where he pursued a degree leading to the award of a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 2021.  In 2008 he enrolled for a postgraduate degree at Njala University and 2010 he was awarded a master degree in Business Administration with finance option. Mr. Makaya is fluent in English and speaks Mende, Temne, and Krio as local dialects. 

Mr. Makaya is a development specialist experienced in research, production of various knowledge transfers products such as reports, policies, speaking notes, concurrences. He is an expert in organizational capacity building, change process facilitation, executive coaching and mentoring In addition, he has vast knowledge in identifying funding opportunities, fostering relationships with potential donors or grant-making organizations, and coordinating fundraising efforts for non-profit organizations. He has done   extensive work in Sierra Leone in both private and public sector.

In the private sector he has worked with various International, National Non- Governmental Organisations and Companies where he delivered a myriad of sustainable projects that have enhanced the lives of vulnerable populations by focusing on agriculture, environmental safety, modern technology, education, energy, health and more. 

In the Public Sector he was a Lecturer at the School of Social Sciences, Njala University an institution he served for a period of about twelve (12) years where he contributed to the establishment of an accounting department.  He is currently a Deputy Director in the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development where is accomplishments include the production of reports and crafting of national policies for implementation. 

Other key achievements include the establishment in Sierra Leone Agro for Community Development and Empowerment – Sierra Leone abbreviated as ACDE-SL and Right to Development Inc. established in Delaware, United States of America.
